What If Everything Went Right?
Reimagining our path to happiness with Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswati and a special throwback with Alanis Morissette.
Happy Friday!
“What if?”
That’s the topic on my mind this week as we released our powerful and moving episode with Sadhvi Baghawati Saraswati, an American-born, Stanford-educated psychology graduate student who had a profound spiritual awakening on the banks of the Ganga River in India and, having found her spiritual guru and home, became a Hindu monk and never looked back.
What would our lives be like if we engaged in the “what if?” and stayed there a while? I find more openness, more possibility, and more positivity. I’m curious what you might find if you join me in the “What if?”
What if I were truly on a road leading to happiness and directed all of my energy towards that happiness?
What if I assumed the best of everyone rather than the worst?
There are so many “what ifs?” - I can’t wait to hear yours.
This episode really stuck with me after we recorded it; it’s reminiscent (for me at least) of our conversation with Michael Singer, where we entertained a possible future free of pain, suffering, and strife. The notion of a spiritual salve for our ills is nothing new, but Sadhviji’s approach and humor made this seem a lot more attainable for me.
I really hope you got something out of this conversation! And...“what if?” we got one of the most iconic, talented, and brilliant musicians of the 90s to come on the podcast!? Guess what!? We did! Alanis Morrisette joined us on MBB 4 years ago, and we are airing it today as an audio release. So if you missed it the first time or want to revisit it, we encourage you to enthusiastically do so! Alanis is incredibly thoughtful, down-to-earth, and fascinating. We think it’s a perfect compliment for the good vibes Sadhviji started putting out on Tuesday - and we hope it continues all weekend for y’all!
Good vibes only from here on out!
Until Monday,
Mayim

I needed this. The world was weighing on me.
Thank you so much for this post. That last episode has still stuck with me as well and I have not listened to Alanis Morissette so I really appreciate you reposting that so that I can listen to it as a newer member. ☺️
